‘Birthday rule’ could save money for Medigap users

   Some Oregonians with Medicare supplemental insurance coverage (commonly called “Medigap”), may save money on their premiums thanks to a new rule that took effect earlier this year.

   Newberg residents Edie Baisinger and Dick Pechin were recently appointed to serve as volunteer ombudsmen for the state of Oregon.   Baisinger, a retired teacher, and Pechin, a sales and marketing retiree, will act as watchdogs, advocating for residents in long-term care facilities in Newberg.
