Property taxes are way out of line
To the editor:
The year 2012 brought some interesting items on my property tax statement.
I own a very nondescript home here in Newberg, nothing fancy, certainly no HG-TV dream home and not very up to date.

Government has an image problem. It is blamed for all manner of societal ills and its image isn’t improving. But we’ve always believed that local and county government hereabouts were run much better, more responsibly and with an understanding that officials are answerable to the those folks that sign their checks — the taxpayers
So it is with grave concern that we report two stories in today’s edition about problems with the one person in county government that should above all understand the importance of upholding the law — the county counsel.
