Senior Cassie Beecher and Newberg are hoping to supplant Tualatin as the top team in Oregon and win their first state championship since 2009.
After playing second fiddle to Tualatin the past two seasons, including back-to-back narrow defeats at the hands of the Timberwolves in the state title game, Newberg is poised to reclaim its place as the dominant water polo team in the state.
