Newberg resident Barbara Ristine, 78, has set out to knit as many hats as she can for the benefit of babies born at the Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel in Portland. Since Thanksgiving, she’s already made more than 75.
More Portland-area babies’ heads will be warmer — and their parents more informed — in the coming year, thanks to the efforts of a local woman and other volunteers.
