Newberg advances to state playoffs

6A girls soccer — Tigers top Centennial 2-1 in play-in game, will face No. 3 overall seed Thurston in the first round of state tourney

   Newberg booked its second trip to the state playoffs in three years by beating Centennial 2-1 in dramatic fashion in a 6A play-in game Tuesday at Loran Douglas Field.
