Student athletes at Newberg High School participate in the Immediate Post-concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing (ImPACT) program, which requires athletes take a test before any injuries have occurred to establish a baseline for cognitive functioning.
According to Newberg High School Athletic Director Tim Burke, the school’s concussion management program has been a success so far and continues to improve.
