Debora DeLeon and Savannah Stanton went stride for stride for most of Newberg’s 5k race versus McMinnville on Wednesday. DeLeon placed fourth in 20:54, four seconds ahead of Stanton, as the Tigers crushed the Grizzlies 20-43.
Wednesday’s regular season finale against McMinnville was a mixed bag for Newberg, as both the boys and girls found reason to celebrate and perhaps earned some extra motivation heading into the district meet Oct.
