Assemblage — Kim Hamblin’s work continues to evolve; debuts first show at First Street gallery

An evolving artist —
The work of local artist Kim Hamblin encapsulates elements of the ancient Asian tradition of paper cutting as well as traditional assemblage. Her show at Art Elements Gallery opens Thursday.
   Monarch butterflies flutter around a man’s head, in which hangs a cocoon. A menacing owl perches on a  branch, gripping a bright-red heart in its talon.
