Herring Fred and Kaye Herring will soon celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a small family gathering. The couple were married Aug. 26, 1950, at Newberg Methodist Church. After a short time driving truck, he returned to the family farm that became Herring Brothers, known for their strawberries. Later, he took over the Herring Nut Plant, which did custom shelling.
