Sophomore guard Keisha Gordon scores on a lay-up during the Bruins' 55-48 win over Carthage in the Sweet 16 game Friday afternoon in St. Louis, Mo. Gordon scored 13 points, including three three-pointers, in the game.

   ST. LOUIS - Powered by double-doubles from Elise Kuenzi and Hannah Munger, George Fox took one step closer toward repeating as Division III national champions by topping Carthage College 55-48 in a Sweet 16 game Friday at Washington University.   Kuenzi helped the Bruins (28-2) erase a six-point deficit early in the second half, scoring 14 of her game-high 18 points after halftime and grabbing 10 rebounds.

   PORTLAND — Newberg fell just short of its goal of bringing home a trophy from the 6A state basketball tournament, falling to top-ranked Jesuit 74-36 in the quarterfinals Thursday before dropping a heartbreaking 74-72 to McKay in the consolation semifinals at the Rose Garden Friday morning.
